[WYFTY Triathletes] The Where Your Feet Take You Challenge Week

When COVID sent us all into lockdown and races started being cancelled all over the place I realized that my job as a coach was even more important at this moment in that I needed to be creative to keep athletes happy, motivated, disciplined, and most importantly having some fun with their training. Truthfully, this is one of my favorite things as a coach. This idea of doing everything I can and being creative to keep athletes motivated and full of fun is the reason I became a coach. Yes I love seeing my athletes cross the finish line and reach their goals but the best part of coaching is seeing the team come together and support and cheer each other on even in crazy things like this little challenge.

One of the things we did as a team back in March when the first wave of shut downs really happened was a little Green Challenge week in which athletes were challenged to be all green in Training Peaks and then we would have a little drawing. Well as COVID continued on and more and more races got cancelled I decided I wanted to up the game and really give the athletes something to work for and to create some fun!

Enter WYFTY CHALLENGE WEEK!!!

Honestly, this was SOOO MUCH fun for me as coach and selfishly I think I may have benefited from it more than my athletes just because watching them all participate totally warmed my heart and soul.

So what was the WYFTY Challenge Week? Basically it was a week of a bunch of different little challenges that they could participate in within the team and be eligible for prizes.

Here is what we did:

1. Wall Sit Challenge.
How long can you hold a wall sit?? Perform a wall sit for as long as you can.

2.Plank Challenge.
Same as the wall sit challenge... How long can you hold a plank, standard plank.

3. Green Week Challenge.
We've done this before!! Be 100% green with your week the week of July 27th to August 2nd.

4. Daily Intention Setting Challenge
This challenge is all about working on your mind and giving you some space to organize your day. With this challenge you will post a photo of doing the action (don't have share what you journal at all just share a photo of the action) either on FB team page or on IG (making sure you tag me).

5. The Virtual 5k!!!!
This will be completed on either Saturday or Sunday of the week!!!
