Fueling the Bike Leg of a Triathlon Using Infinit Nutrition
How you fuel on the bike portion of the bike can make or break the run portion of your race. Long course triathlon is a long day and it requires calories and hydration in order to get it right.
Everyone has different fueling strategies which is one of the reasons practicing your nutrition strategy in training so that you can make tweaks and changes. One of the key pieces about fueling is to ensure that you consume both calories and water. Often when athletes are trying to fuel they mainly focus on calories and if they are consuming liquid calories often what they think is that equals their water consumption. When in reality when you consume liquid calories your body (which is very smart) utilizes the fluid as calories vs. water so you still need to consume water. You need the water in order to hydrate your cells, joints, muscles, gut, and to help shuttle the carbs you are consuming to your system.
