Welcome! I am Kayla Bowker and your host on the incredible journey Where Your Feet Take You. While I hope to bring you stimulating articles, fun advice, and a little insight into my own journey of following my feet on a journey of running, triathloning (my new word for participating in triathlons), and leading a clean and healthy life I can offer no promises.
First let me tell you a little about who I am. As mentioned I am Kayla Bowker married to the most amazing man a girl could ask for. It is through his belief in myself that I now writing to you, as he continually pushes me to be the best person I can be. I live a great life in the Pacific Northwest where I work, learn, do a lot of running and weightlifting all intermixed with a little bit of road biking, swimming, golfing, and keeping an eye on an extraordinarily cute doodle puppy.
My Passion for Running and Fitness
Running has always been there for me; it is something I started doing at a young age and while I have had my ups and downs with it running has always been my release. It seems as though no matter what is going on in my life I can lace up my runners step out on the pavement and lose myself in the flow of air rushing through my lungs, the pounding of feet on the pavement, and rush of being totally separated from everything. I am very blessed to have not only a body but a mind-set that allows me to continually push the envelope in order to see how much more I can take. Through this mind-set, and with the help of my family and friends, I have gained a strong belief in myself that I really can be great.
Over the years my passion has moved from strictly running to being a triathlete. My first official triathlon was in 2013 and since then I have progressed from a complete newbie to having toed the line at two World Championships. There have been many ups and downs along this journey and each one has helped me grow as person and an athlete.
